Psychotherapy for Maternal Well-Being is a self-pay therapy practice, which means I do not accept insurance as a form of payment. I accept cash, checks, HSA/FSA and all major credit cards for session payment. I can provide a statement at the end of each month that you can submit to your insurance company if you have out-of-network behavioral health benefits. Many people have these benefits-it will depend on the plan you have, and there may be an out-of-network deductible to reach first. On average, most people can be eligible to receive 60-70% reimbursement for their therapy sessions after their deductible is met. I have also partnered with the platform Mentaya so you can use the tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for my services. It is recommended you confirm whatever information you receive using the Mentaya Benefits Checker with your insurance company. I will also provide a Good Faith Estimate in your initial paperwork, which is a fee schedule to help you anticipate the cost of therapy. You can also reference here for more information about the No Surprises Act.

I partner with Open Path Collective, which allows me to offer a few reduced-fee client spots on my schedule. Refer to the Open Path Collective’s website for more information and to see if you meet their income and insurance requirements.

Benefits of seeing me as an out-of-network therapist include:

  • Only myself as your therapist and you as client determine your treatment; this is not influenced by any insurance requirements (no session limits, diagnosis requirements, or surprises with payments)

  • May increase your mental and emotional investment in therapy as you recognize the financial commitment you are making to participate in therapy

  • I am specialized in maternal and perinatal mental health care-I have additional training, experience and expertise.

  • If you have a high-deductible plan, it may be the same cost to you to see me as an in-network therapist

  • If you have good out-of-network benefits, you may be reimbursed some or a significant amount of your session costs

  • I maintain a smaller client caseload and thus can provide more personalized and in-depth care and treatment

Sessions are available both in-person and by video. If we are doing a session by video, it is best to have a private and quiet space, as well as a stable Wi-Fi connection. Due to licensing requirements, you must be physically in the state of Minnesota for a video session.
